William Shakespeare

William Shakespeare is considered to be the greatest poet, playwright and writer of Anglo-Saxon culture. He is known for his mastery of poetic and literary forms; his ability to represent aspects of human nature is often highlighted by his enthusiasts.

A prominent figure in Western culture, Shakespeare continues to influence contemporary artists. It is translated into a large number of languages and its plays are regularly performed all over the world. Shakespeare is one of the few playwrights who has practiced both comedy and tragedy.

He is one of the three English authors of the
most read in the world.

Shakespeare wrote thirty-seven dramatic works between 1580 and 1613. But the exact chronology of his pieces is still open to discussion. However, the volume of his creations should not appear to be exceptional by the standards of the time.

Some controversies call into question the origin of the documents, the identity of their author and whether they really belonged to Shakespeare, partly because of their heterogeneity, and the limited biographical information on the playwright.

He is the author of, among other things,: "Macbeth", "Othello", "Romeo and Juliet", "Hamlet", "A Midsummer Night's Dream", "King Lear", "Much noise for nothing", "The Merchant of Venice", "The Storm", "As you wish", "Richard III", "Julius Caesar".
